After launching its first electric car XC40 Recharge in India, Volvo is all set to launch two new models tomorrow. Swedish luxury SUV carmaker Volvo will launch the facelift models of the Volvo XC40 and XC90 in India on 21 September. According to reports, mild-hybrid technology can be found in the upcoming Volvo XC40 facelift version. This will cost less fuel and save money. At the same time, slight changes can be made in its exterior as well. In the upcoming Volvo XC90 facelift version, the company can get to see only a few cosmetic changes.
Volvo XC40 Facelift
The facelift version of Volvo's luxury SUV XC40 can get a sharp headlight set and updated front bumper. On the other hand, the face of the XC40 facelift may look like the XC40 Recharge, which was launched earlier this year. Indian customers can get a new 2.0L turbo petrol engine with mild-hybrid option in it. Hybrid technology will consume less fuel.
Volvo XC90 Facelift
The facelift version of the Volvo XC90 may knock in the Indian market with some cosmetic updates. Indian customers can also get a new infotainment screen in the upcoming facelift version. Volvo will hardly change much in the three-row luxury SUV. It can get a 2.0L 4 cylinder twin-turbo petrol engine like the current model. The current model of Volvo XC90 comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) technology.
Facelift models will be expensive
In India, the Volvo XC40 comes in a single variant with an ex-showroom price of Rs 44.50 lakh. With the introduction of mild-hybrid technology in the Volvo XC40 facelift model, its price may increase by about Rs 2 lakh. It will compete with luxury SUVs like Mercedes GLA, Audi Q3 and BMW X1. On the other hand, the Volvo XC90 also comes in a single variant and its ex-showroom price is Rs 93.90 lakh.
