Yes, recently it has been said from the company that the delivery of the first batch of MG Aster may be delayed due to semiconductor shortage.

The target was to deliver 5000 units by this year
It is pertinent to mention here that MG had delivered MG Asters to 500 customers of the first batch on the occasion of Dhanteras last month and the company had said that at least 5000 people in the first batch would be handed over the SUV by December this year. But now the semiconductor shortage is affecting its production significantly and the company says that there may be a slight delay in the delivery of the first batch. However, at the launch itself, the company had made it clear that chip shorts could have an impact on the delivery of Aster. Amidst all this, the company was adamant that it would deliver 5000 units of Aster by December 2021.

In India, the 5-seater SUV MG Astor has been introduced with a price (ex-showroom) ranging from Rs 9.78 lakh to Rs 17.38 lakh. The Aster has 11 variants in 5 trim levels namely Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. The Aster is offered with 2 engine options as well as both manual and automatic transmissions. Offered with 5 color options, MG Aster has been launched in the Indian market with latest features like AI Personal and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
