MG Motor India has released the official teaser of the new model of its flagship SUV MG Gloster. In the teaser released, the company has introduced the new Gloster as an advanced SUV. Customers will get more advanced safety features in the upcoming SUV. According to the reports, the new model of Gloster may come with Level 2 ADAS. MG Motor will launch the upcoming 7 seater SUV on August 31. To be launched in October 2020, the Gloster is the first SUV in India to get the Level 1 ADAS.
Didn't see big changes
The ex-showroom price of MG Gloster in India is Rs 31.50 lakh. The SUV is available with Super, Smart, Smart Sharp and Savvy trim options. In the Indian market, it competes with such SUVs as Toyota Fortuner, Isuzu MU-X, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.
Several prototypes of the new Gloster were caught on camera this year. But no major changes were seen in them. Not much information has been received from the teaser image.
Will get Level 2 ADAS
Looking at the teaser released by MG Motor, it seems that the company will only make cosmetic changes in the new Gloster. This is only a two year old full size SUV, which is based on the Maxus D90. However, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technology can be given in the new model of MG Gloster. The company has already given this technology in the Astor mid-size SUV as well.
Features of MG Gloster
The current model of MG Gloster gets many smart and cool features like 12.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected tech, all-digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera system, panoramic sunroof, six airbags. This car comes with a 2.0L diesel engine, in which single turbo and twin turbo options are available. It has been given 8-speed torque converter AT and all-wheel drive system.
