Energy sector company Shell has set up more than 10,000 units across the country by 2030. electric vehicle charging point planned to install. Shell said in a statement that the company on Thursday installed its first EV charger in the country for four-wheelers and two-wheelers in Bengaluru. The company operates 327 petrol pumps in the country.
According to the statement, India is the first market for Shell to set up charging points for two-wheelers. The company plans to install more than 10,000 charging points across India by 2030.
It aims to provide safe, green and integrated transportation solutions to its customers through Shell recharge stations. The company said that the electricity for Shell's chargers will be 100 per cent green. However, the company did not give full details about it.
In the first phase, the company plans to set up charging stations at its petrol pumps located at Yesvantpur, Marathalli, Old Madras Road, Brookfield and Kanakapur in Bengaluru.
The company said it plans to expand EV charging infrastructure in areas other than its existing retail markets in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Assam and Andhra Pradesh.
