Vehicle company Mahindra & Mahindra launched its first electric SUV Car XUV400 Launched. Mahindra on Thursday said it will launch its first electric sports utility (SUV) vehicle, the XUV400, early next year.
The company launched the five-seat XUV400 globally. The company claims that this electric vehicle can run up to 456 km on a single charge. The company also claimed to catch the speed of up to 100 kmph in 8.3 seconds.
Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director (Vehicles and Agriculture Sector), Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said at the unveiling event of this electric vehicle that there are huge opportunities for electric vehicles in the market, especially in the SUV segment.
Our research indicates that 25% of SUV owners want to buy an electric SUV as their next car. So there is a huge opportunity here. Currently, there are only a few models in the electric SUV segment in the domestic market with Tata Motors' Nexon being the best-selling car.
Mahindra will launch not one 5-5 electric car
On August 15, the company had presented a glimpse of its upcoming five electric SUVs. The company will present its electric car in the market under two brands XUV and BE. The upcoming electric SUV will be built on the INGLO platform, which uses Volkswagen's MEB parts.
Mahindra has introduced the XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09 electric SUV cars under both the sub-brands. The company will launch its new electric car in India between 2024 and 2026.
