In view of the safety of the passengers traveling in the car, most of the companies do the assessment of their new vehicle, for which the car has to be sent to the Global NCAP (New Car Assessment Program). But now India will be able to give its own car safety rating and this crash test rating will be issued by Bharat NCAP. The government has crossed an important stage in this regard. In fact, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has tweeted on microblogging site Twitter that GSR Notifications have been approved.
Bharat-NCAP will work as a consumer centric platform. With the help of this platform, the customer will be able to give a star-rating on the basis of its crash testing, promoting a healthy competition among the OEMs in India to manufacture safer vehicles.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that on the basis of crash tests, passengers sitting in Indian cars will not only be safe but will also help in increasing the export of Indian cars. The test protocol of India NCAP will be tried to follow the test protocol of the existing Global NCAP.
