Under this initiative, both the companies will first set up the charging infrastructure at the petrol pumps of HPCL. After this, both can expand the scope of alliance for other opportunities in the business.
Hero MotoCorp said in a statement on Tuesday that in the first phase, charging stations will be set up in select cities. After that it will be expanded to other cities. The company aims to set up EV charging stations across the country.
Pawan Munjal, Chairman and CEO, Hero MotoCorp said, “We believe that easy and rapid adoption of electric vehicles will be possible only when customers have easy and convenient access to the relevant infrastructure like charging stations. Our collaboration with HPCL will meet this need in the field of EV charging stations, he added.
Evolt India will also set up 75 charging stations
Electric vehicle charging infrastructure business startup Evolt India on Tuesday said it has tied up with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to set up over 75 charging stations in India. Evolt India gave this information in a statement. These charging stations will be set up in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
