Maruti Suzuki to complete production of 2 million units in this financial year? can it happen

Maruti Suzuki Production: At the beginning of this year, Maruti Suzuki India Chairman RC Bhargava had told the shareholders that the company aims to increase production this year. After this, he had set a target to complete the production of 20 lakh units in the current financial year with the improvement in the supply of semiconductors. But will the auto company really be able to meet the target of 20 lakh unit production in this financial year? The answer to this question has been given by the company’s Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales) Shashank Srivastava. Let’s see what he said about this.

According to Maruti Suzuki Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales) Shashank Srivastava, the company may be slightly behind its target. He said that the new mid-size SUV Grand Vitara was expected to play a role in achieving the target of two million units. But the latest figures say something else. At present, it is going to be very difficult for Maruti Suzuki to complete 20 lakh unit production in this financial year.

there is still a chance

When asked by news agency PTI whether the company is on the right track to meet the target, Shravastava said, "As per our current calculations, I think it should be a little less than that number." However, he said that the company can still achieve the production of 2 million units. For this the pending order has to be fulfilled. Let us tell you that Maruti Suzuki has about 3.75 units of pending orders.

effect of semiconductor shortage

Shashank Srivastava further added, “It really depends on how much production they will be able to do on these models when we have pending bookings. That's why we have a chance to reach 20 lakh units. However, at this point of time, it seems to have fallen a bit." Semiconductor shortage is also one of the many reasons that have affected the company's production.

Production will be affected in December

There has been a slight improvement in the supply of semiconductors. However, Maruti Suzuki believes that the shortage of electronic components will have a greater impact on production in December 2022 than in the last few months. The company has introduced the Grand Vitara SUV in September 2022. A total of 87,953 bookings have been received, while orders for 55,505 units are pending.
