Honda’s entry in electric vehicles market will start battery swap service for e-rickshaws

Japanese auto company Honda in India by the end of this year battery for electric rickshaw Planning to start a swap service. Flex fueled vehicles are capable of running entirely on fuels containing petrol or bio-ethanol or a mixture of both. Honda said in a statement on Tuesday that it aims to increase annual sales of electric vehicles to one million units within the next five years and 3.5 million units by 2030.

The company said that at present the size of the global electric motorcycle market is around 50 million units per annum. Most of these are electric mopeds (EM) and electric bicycles made in China.

Honda plans to introduce battery sharing service for electric tricycle taxis (rickshaws) in India by the end of this year, the company said. Apart from this, Honda is also working towards standardization of interchangeable batteries.
