Usually we keep seeing some kind of insects like green leaves. Many types of strange insects and worms are seen on the trees during the rainy season. Also in the forests, in the seas sometimes we see colorful creatures. Especially in the sea, strange fishes and creatures can be found in the tidal area. A rare creature with a body like a freshly fallen leaf was spotted on the coast of Visakhapatnam. Traces of extremely rare ‘flatworm’ have come to light for the first time in Visakhapatnam. This bloodless creature is pale, dark blue in color with a long yellow spine in the middle.
Members of the East Coast Conservation Team from Visakhapatnam are conducting research on rare species/organisms in the intertidal area. A marine walk is conducted every two weeks along the coast of Vizag. An opportunity is also being given to common people who are interested in this. The International Journal of Creative Research Thought about Flatworm was published in the first week of July.
Vimalraj, Manish Manik and Pawansai led by marine biologist Srichakra Pranav in Visakhapatnam identified and recorded this flatworm. These flatworms are poisonous. By their colors, other animals recognize them as poisonous and do not come near them. They feed on small crabs and much smaller creatures.
