SC Railway: The speed of trains traveling in South Central Railway will be increased. The zone has crossed another milestone in the speed of trains as most sections of the Secunderabad, Vijayawada and Guntakal railway divisions have been allowed to run at a maximum speed of 130 kmph. The Railway Department has revealed that the speed of trains is being increased to this extent. Due to heavy train traffic in Kondapalli-Guduru under Vijayawada division and Renigunta-Guntakal sections in Guntakal division, it has been decided in 2020 to increase the capacity of the railway tracks and speed up the trains. It is in this order that the capacity of the railway tracks has been increased recently. After extensive development works in these sections, the trains have now been given permission to run the train services from 12 September 2022, increasing the speed from 110 kmph to 130 kmph.
As a result of getting maximum speed permits in these sections, the average speed of passenger trains as well as freight trains will also increase. This will have a positive impact on the punctuality of trains. Mainly, sectional capacity increases in these important, congested areas with maximum speed allowed.
Secunderabad, Kazipet, Ballarsha, Kazipet, Kondapalli sections of Secunderabad Division, Kondapalli, Vijayawada, Guduru in Vijayawada Division, Renigunta, Guntakal, Wadi sections of Guntakal Division.
