It is known that the Indian Department of Posts has released 40,889 notifications in January regarding the recruitment of Grameen Dak Sevak (GDS)-2023 in various postal circles across the country. There are 2480 vacancies in Andhra Pradesh and 1266 vacancies in Telangana. The postal department has released the first list of candidates for verification of certificates in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and all circles regarding the filling of GDS posts on March 11. 2477 candidates in AP Circle and 1261 candidates in Telangana have been selected for examination of certificates.
Selections are made on the basis of marks/grade merit in class 10th. Candidates were selected by computer generated method based on preference of marks and reservation. If two candidates have the same marks and are selected for the job, the older candidate will be preferred.
Selected candidates for GDS jobs will be notified through SMS/ Email/ Post. The selected candidates will have to perform the duties of Branch Post Master (BPM), Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM) and Dak Sevak. Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification For this they have to appear for certificate verification at the local H post office by March 21. Scrutiny of certificates will not be allowed under any circumstances after the prescribed deadline. Candidates appearing for the verification of certificates should carry their original certificates, one pair of xerox copies and photographs. Candidates will be issued appointment orders only after certificate verification.

Working for four hours a day…
Candidates selected for rural doc sevak jobs should work only four hours a day. Apart from these, incentives are provided to BPM/ABPM/Doc Sevaks for services related to Indian Postal Payment Bank. The value of those services depends on the intensive. The Department of Posts will provide them with a laptop/computer/smartphone to perform their daily duties. The concerned office should have accessible residence. Rs.12,000 – Rs.29,380 per month for BPM posts; ABPM/Doc Sevak posts have a salary of Rs.10,000 – Rs.24,470.
