Kakinada Crime: The police have solved the case of the body of an unidentified woman in a hayloft which caused a sensation in Kakinada district. The police confirmed that she was raped and murdered. On February 24, the police cracked the case of a burnt body in a hayloft near Machavaram village of Rayavaram mandal in Kakinada district. A widow living alone was raped by two brothers living in the same area and not only killed by hanging a wire around her neck but also put her in a nearby barn and set her on fire. Ramachandrapuram DSP D. Balachandra Reddy has revealed the details of the police inquiry regarding this heinous incident. A woman named Satyaveni is living alone after her husband died. Nallamilli Umamaheswara Reddy and Venkatasathyanarayana Reddy, two brothers living in the same colony, fell in love with Satyaveni who was living alone. Due to this, Satyaveni was harassed several times. Moreover, she complained to the local elders as she behaved rudely. As a result, the village elders reprimanded Satyaveni and the brothers became angry. They planned to rape and kill Satyaveni. In this order, on February 23rd at eight o’clock in the night, after noticing Satyaveni coming alone, both the accused locked the woman near to Chinathapulamma Lova and raped her. Then the wire found there was tied to the woman’s neck and killed. The gold articles on her body were taken and the body was burnt in the hayloft.
As a case of murder from mystery
The farmer informed the police after noticing the burnt body beyond recognition in the hayloft. But as the body was burnt beyond recognition whether it was a man or a woman, the police started an investigation to solve this mystery. A woman’s sandals and broken glass shells were found near the hayloft, and the details of the missing person were collected after identifying her as a woman. It was in this sequence that the village women police found that Satyaveni was not found in Godu Colony in Machavaram. When the police informed the investigation team about this, the two brothers were not seen since the same day and the police caught them after focusing on their movements. In the investigation, the accused denied the original matter. The police who arrested both of them produced them in the court and the court remanded them.
The accused’s mother committed suicide..
Before the police explained the manner of the murder in the press meet, two brothers, Umamaheswara Reddy and Venkatasathyanarayana Reddy, committed the murder in the village. When this came out, the accused’s mother Padma committed suicide by hanging herself at home on the 8th of this month. By then both the accused were absconding. Finally, the relatives had to complete the last rites.
