IPS Sunil Kumar: Good news from AP Govt for IPS PV Sunil Kumar

IPS Sunil Kumar appointed as DG of AP state Disaster response and Fire services of State
Amaravati: AP government has given good news to IPS PV Sunil Kumar. PV Sunil Kumar appointed as State Fire Services DG. AP Government Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy has issued orders to this effect. With the latest orders, Sunil Kumar will take charge as DG Disaster Management and Fire Services tomorrow (Friday).

In January Sunil Kumar Transfer 
Andhra Pradesh CID Chief PV Sunil Kumar has been transferred by the government. He was not posted anywhere else. Ordered to report in General Administration Department. In his place Sanjay, who is the DG of Fire Services, has been assigned the responsibilities. PV Sunil Kumar has been the Chief of CID since the formation of the YSRCP government. The government did not respond to the criticism that the CID officials were harassing the opposition leaders with false cases and making arrests against the rules. However, his sudden transfer is creating a sensation in the police circles. Generally, if senior officers are transferred, posting will be given. But only one PV Sunil was transferred..not even posted. There is a wide discussion in the ruling circles as to the reason for this.

AP government has recently given him a promotion. He was given the rank of DGP who had the rank of Additional DG. He continued as CID Chief with the rank of Additional DGP. Promotional given as DG.  Sunil Kumar is a 1993 batch IPS officer.  The promotion is effective from 1st January 2023. However, his transfer within twenty days of his promotion as DG.. became unexpected. The reasons for the transfer are not clear but TDP UN leader Nara Lokesh made harsh comments on the performance of the CID in the morning. Lokesh criticized that CID had intervened in a land dispute in Visakha… CID had been interfered with in the settlements of will cases.  People are angry that hearing the name of CID makes people angry. 

Sunil Kumar, TDP has made many tweets criticizing and accusing the CID’s working style. Complained to the Centre…. also to the President.  But not even once action was taken against Sunil Kumar. As CID Chief for a long time  continues. Even the higher authorities of AP government do not think that action will be taken in the matter now. 

Why  The authorities but the government never tell the reason for the transfer. Like this one..  Sudden transfer..  There is an impression that reporting in the general administration department is done because of dissatisfaction with the performance or allegations.
