Andhra Rains: Rains do not seem to leave the Telugu states. All the low-lying areas are already waterlogged, but the rains will continue, said the Meteorological Department. The extreme low pressure formed in the Bay of Bengal has strengthened and turned into a cyclone. The Meteorological Department has said that there will be heavy rains along with thunderstorms in the coast and the border in the next 24 hours. Also, disaster management department officials said that there is a chance of heavy to very heavy rains here and there in Uttar Andhra. The weather department has warned fishermen not to go fishing on the north coast due to strong winds blowing along the coast. Rivers, streams and canals are overflowing due to heavy rains in Uttar Andhra for three days. Hundreds of acres of paddy and maize crops in Pachipenta mandal of Parvathipuram Manyam district are flooded like ponds. Farmers are worried about the waterlogging of the harvested maize and cotton. Many colonies in Salur town were submerged. People are having trouble not being able to come out of their homes.
The Tagarapuvalasa National Highway under the Bhimili zone of Visakha district has received heavy flood water. The motorists faced difficulties as the canals filled up and the flood water entered the national highway service road. Satyanarayana Swamy Landslides are collapsing. Nagavali catchment areas in Rajam Constituency are stuck in waterlogging. Flood water has reached the government offices in Regidi mandal center.
