AP News : Two kg of wheat flour on each card, Civil Supplies Department has launched a new program

The Civil Supplies Department, which has been supplying rice, sugar and pulses to the beneficiaries through the public distribution system, is also providing wheat flour from Wednesday. State Civil Supplies Minister Karumuri Venkata Nageswara Rao inaugurated the program in Visakhapatnam. Wheat flour packets were distributed to the beneficiaries. The minister gave two kilo packets of two kilos on each card to the beneficiaries. The price of a kilo packet of wheat flour has been fixed at Rs 16. He said that during the recent visit to the state, the central PDS secretary appreciated the performance of public distribution system in AP across the country. He said that the YCP government is taking steps to do more good for the poor.  Minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao revealed that the public distribution system is being taken further.

For the first time from Uttarandhra 

Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Manyam, Anakapalli in Uttarandhra   The municipality will provide wheat flour on subsidy in urban areas. It is Rs.40 per kg in the open market. Visakhapatnam Urban Area Ward No. 24, Sitammadhara Nandu Ration Shop No. 205 for Ration Card Holders Y.D.U. Wheat flour was distributed by vehicle. Minister Muri Nageswara Rao said that wheat flour will be distributed to 6,94,755 card holders in the state and 4,54,485 card holders in Visakhapatnam district alone.  He said that steps will be taken to distribute wheat flour on subsidy to the card holders in all other districts of the state. Minister Karumuri informed that this decision was taken with the intention of providing quality wheat flour to the cardholders. 

Nutritional food through wheat

In the current situation, more awareness among people about health has increased. As part of that, many people prefer items like pulka and chapati in the night time food. Wheat consumption will also increase. With the increase in consumption, the prices are increasing further in the market. Andhra Pradesh government has ambitiously started distribution of wheat flour. Earlier wheat was distributed directly. But due to unavoidable reasons the government has stopped the distribution of wheat. Now the distribution of fresh wheat flour has started. Wheat flour will be distributed in advance in each constituency at Rs 16 per kg, up to two kg. Officials say that depending on the response, they are making preparations to distribute as much as asked. In this program   State Nedcap President  K. K. Raju, local corporator Sadi Padmareddy, district joint collector K.S. Viswanathan, District Civil Supplies Officer G. Suryaprakash Rao, District Civil Supplies Manager I. Rajeshwari, Ration Depot Dealers Association President Chittiraju participated.
