Andhra Pradesh: The AP government has clarified that it is not possible to cancel the employees’ contributory pension scheme. In its place, a committee of ministers with trade unions met on Wednesday, September 7, to discuss the issue of a new policy GPS. Later, Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana told the media that GPS was discussed with the employees several times and the final draft was explained to the employees. He said that we have assured the employees that they will ensure a minimum pension of Rs.10,000 as a guarantee after retirement. If the pensioner dies, the pension will be given to the wife or husband. He said that health carf has also been given to the pensioners and steps will be taken to give exgratia if the pensioner dies. We will hold discussions with the employees once again.. After the GPS is finalized. He said that they will be legally bound. The minister said that there are many benefits of GPS. Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that GPS was brought with the idea of bringing a better scheme than the Contributory Pension Scheme. It has been revealed that more facilities are being increased in GPS as well.
They said that before the election, they gave a hasty guarantee on the cancellation of CPS. Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that 95% of the promises mentioned in the manifesto have been fulfilled. He said that cancellation of CPS is also among the 5 percent unfulfilled promises. The minister said that if the employees continue to protest, we will do it ourselves. Minister Botsa Satyanarayana said that the employees have requested that the cases against them be dropped, and that serious cases will be taken to the CM and discussed. He said that we have told the employees that a positive decision will be taken on the removal of the hard cases against the employees. Meanwhile, the trade unions make it clear that they do not accept GPS. APJAC Amaravati, AP CPS US and AP CPS EA have stayed away from this meeting.
