A fatal road accident took place in Anantapur district. A speeding lorry ran over the women on the Penna river bridge at Kalvapalli in Beluguppa mandal. Two died on the spot in this incident. Many people were injured. Due to the lifting of the gates of the Peruru project (Peruru Dam), there is a heavy flood in the Penna river. The lorry ran over the women who went to see the water. Villagers struggled to catch the lorry that caused the accident and finally caught it between Borampally-Golla villages. Vehicular traffic on the bridge was not blocked due to extreme anger. The situation became tense.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and rectified the situation. The person responsible for the accident has been arrested. A case has been registered and an investigation has been started on the death of the women. When two women who came to see the project died, there was a local tragedy.
