Andhra Pradesh: First time in the history of Andhra Pradesh.. five rivers are meeting in the sea at the same time. Yes, all five rivers meet the sea at the same time. Krishna, Godavari, Penna, Vamsdhara and Nagavali rivers flowing in the state are at-a-time running towards Kadali. All the projects are filled with the rains falling in the catchment areas of these five rivers and the surplus water meets the sea. Irrigation experts say that this is the first time in the history of AP that all these five rivers flowing in the state are meeting the sea at the same time.
With the rains that have been falling for the last few days, the Krishna, Godavari, Penna, Vamsdhara and Nagavali rivers are getting flood water. On the one hand, the rains are falling in the state, and on the other hand, the rivers are flowing fiercely due to the flood coming from above. With that, all the projects are full and the pots are full. With that, surplus water is released into the sea. About four and a half lakh cusecs of Krishna water from Prakasam barrage and about three and a half lakh cusecs of Godavari water from Dhavaleswaram barrage meet in the Bay of Bengal. Also, Vamsadhara river water from Gotta barrage, Penna water from Nellore barrage and Nagavali water from Narayanapuram dam meet the sea.
