Ahmedabad: A 24-year-old man living in Gandhinagar’s Sector 24 had lodged a complaint with the Pethapur police on Sunday alleging that a friend had attacked him. He alleged that when he was going to attend the wedding in Santalpur area of ​​the district, he had clearly refused to put a bottle of liquor in his car and that is why the friend was angry with him.

Taxi-driver Siddharth Singh Chawda, in a complaint lodged at the Pethapur police station, said that when he refused to put a bottle of liquor in his car on Sunday, his friend Ravi Dalal, who is also a neighbor, beat him up. Chavda said Dalal had called on Sunday evening and asked him to come along to attend his friend’s wedding.

He said he took the broker with him in his car and drove towards the wedding venue. Before they arrived at the wedding venue, the broker told them to stop the car and drop off a bottle of liquor for the wedding celebration.

When they were returning home after attending the wedding, Dalal asked them to stop the car near the tea kettle in Pethapur. Before Chavda could say anything, the broker started beating him and then attacked him with a ladki kept in Chavda’s car. Dalal fled the scene while Chavda was admitted to hospital for treatment. Chavda later lodged a complaint against the broker at the Pethapur police station.
