Nikol businessman goes missing after financial dispute, mobile and bike found from canal
Ahmedabad: Vinod Patel, 50, of Nicol, a plastic manufacturing business at Odhav GIDC, went missing on February 27. He became insolvent after lending money to another person. His mobile phone and bike were recovered from the Narmada Canal in Mota Jalundra village of Dehgam taluka in Gandhinagar. However, the police are yet to know whether they are alive or dead. The police have registered a case in this matter and are taking further action.

65 lakhs were lent
Purvi Patel, wife of Vinod Patel, filed an extortion complaint on Sunday against two Nagarvel Vista businessmen, Prafull Shah and his son Purveen Shah and another person named Bhavin Kachdia. Purvi Patel has alleged in the complaint lodged at Nikol police station that her husband had lent Rs 65 lakh to Kachdia about a year ago. However, Kachhiya did not return this rupee. After which it was the turn of Vinod Patel to close his business.

Meanwhile, Prafulla and Purveen, who were supplying raw material for plastic manufacturing to Vinod Patel, were also constantly demanding Rs. Due to earthing tension, Vinod Patel left his house on the morning of February 27. Later, when his wife Purvi called him in the afternoon of the same day, the switch was off. Then on March 1, Dehgam police called Purvi Patel from Vinod Patel’s mobile number and informed that his mobile and bike have been found.

Police registered a case of extortion
When the police checked the mobile phone of Vinod Patel, a video was found in it. In which Vinod Patel was saying that Kachhiya has not returned his money and because of this he has come into financial trouble. On the other hand, Prafulla and Purveen were threatening to kill them if they did not return the rupees. After which the Nicol police registered a case of extortion against Prafulla and Purveen and Kachadia and conducted further investigation.
