Ahmedabad: A married woman has filed a complaint of physical and mental torture and extortion against her husband, father-in-law including in-laws in the city’s Vejalpur police station. According to the FIR, a 28-year-old girl from Delhi married a young man living in Vejalpur in 2021. After marriage, the young woman who came to in-laws provoked the in-laws by putting the status of Delhi in her mobile phone.

‘Father-in-law also often physically assaults’
According to the complaint, the in-laws quarreled with the girl while posting her brother’s birthday status. The father-in-law also took advantage of the isolation and often engaged in physical encounters. The girl has also revealed that her father-in-law came home one day and physically molested her in the bath. Instead of telling the father-in-law who complained to the mother-in-law, the mother-in-law and the husband beat the wife. Nanando also used to trouble the wife by siding with her in-laws.

‘The child is not mine, DNA test will have to be done’
In the meantime, the girl’s husband gave birth to a baby girl and quarreled with her, doubting her wife saying, “This child is not mine, DNA test will have to be done.” The Vejalpur police have registered a case against the in-laws and are conducting further investigation in the entire matter.

Malpractice complaint against corporator’s son
Another incident: Father-in-law has filed a complaint at Sarkhej police station against Jai Arvindbhai Parmar, who works on contract at the Urban Health Center at Sanand. According to which, on 30 January 2023, the 23-year-old daughter of the complainant, Jhanvi, was married to Jai Parmar, a resident of Vejalpur. Within a month and a half of the marriage, Jhanvi moved to Pier and told the family that her husband drinks alcohol and often quarrels. On March 22, Jai took Jhanvi to visit Salangpur. Then Jhanvi called the corporator father-in-law and told him to stop Jay as he has a habit of drinking alcohol. After that, Jay dropped his wife in the pier and left. Jhanvi, tired of her husband, ended her life on Sunday morning. The entire matter is being further investigated by the police.
