Time has come for sowing mustard, sweet corn and these vegetables, farmers should pay attention

Agricultural scientists of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa have asked the farmers to be alert regarding the sowing of crops. He has given detailed information about the crops to be sown in this season and the diseases to be faced. According to him, farmers can sow Sweet Corn (Madhuri, Win Orange) and Baby Corn (HM-4). early sowing of mustard can do. Its improved varieties include Pusa Sarson-28 and Pusa Tarak. Sowing of early peas can also be done. Its improved variety is Pusa Pragati.

Treat the seeds with fungicide Captan @ 2.0 g per kg of seed. After that make sure to vaccinate the crop specific Rhizobium. According to agricultural scientists, mix Rhizobium with seed and keep it in a shady place to dry. Sow the next day.

Right time to sow carrots

In this season, farmers can sow carrots on the bunds. Its improved varieties are Pusa Rudhira. Seed rate is 4.0 kg per acre. Before sowing, treat the seed with Captan @ 2 gm per kg. Make sure to add indigenous manure, potash and phosphorus fertilizers in the field. Sowing of carrot by machine requires one kilogram of seed per acre. Due to which the seed is saved and the quality of the product is also good.

Farmers should monitor this pest in cabbage

Use pheromone trap @ 3-4/acre to monitor head and fruit borer in vegetables (tomato, brinjal, cauliflower and cabbage) and diamond back moth in cauliflower/cauliflower. Farmers whose seedlings of tomato, green chilli, brinjal and early cauliflower are ready, they should be transplanted (shallow beds or bunds) keeping in mind the weather. In this season, farmers can sow crops like Radish (Pusa Chetki), Spinach (Pusa Bharti, Algreen), Chaulai (Pusa Lal Chaulai, Pusa Kiran) etc.

sow improved seeds

Bees have a big contribution in pumpkin and other vegetables. Because they help in pollination, keep bees in the field. Keep a constant vigil for insects and diseases. Keep in touch with Krishi Gyan Kendra and use medicines only after taking correct information. In this season there is a possibility of outbreak of termites in crops and vegetables, so farmers should monitor the crops. If infestation is observed, give Chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 4.0 ml/Lit with irrigation.

use light trap

Farmers should regularly monitor their fields during this season. If infestations of whitefly or sucking insects are seen in crops and vegetables, then mix imidacloprid medicine in 1.0 ml/3 liter of water and spray it when the sky is clear. Farmers can also use Light Trap. For this, mix water and insecticide in a plastic tub or any big vessel, light a bulb and keep it in the middle of the field at night. Insects will be attracted by the light and die by falling on the same solution. Many types of harmful insects will be destroyed by this method.
