The allocation of urea-DAP decreased against the accepted demand, the Rajasthan government accused the Center

Rajasthan government has made much less than the accepted demand at the center Urea and DAP charged with allotting. It is alleged that 96 thousand metric tonnes less urea and 43 thousand metric tonnes less DAP have been allocated than the approved demand. Due to which there is a possibility of problems in providing adequate urea and DAP to the farmers as per the demand. The Rajasthan government often accuses the Center of not supplying enough fertilizers to it. This time too, the state government is blaming the Center with the figures.

With the BJP at the center and the Congress government in Rajasthan, this allegation about farmers becomes more serious. State’s Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria appealed to the Central Government to supply immediately one lakh metric tonnes of urea and 50 thousand metric tonnes of DAP in September, as per the accepted demand. He has written a letter to the Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya in this regard.

How much was the demand, how much was the allocation

The Gehlot government has requested for immediate supply by apprising the farmers of the current demand of urea and DAP. State Agriculture Minister Kataria told in the letter that the central government had approved the demand of 8.50 lakh metric tonnes of urea and 4.40 lakh metric tonnes of DAP for Kharif-2022 to the state. Area of Rabi crops can increase

Referring to the record sowing of Kharif crops this year due to good monsoon in the state, Kataria said that due to this there has been a huge increase in the consumption of fertilizers as compared to last year. The stock of one lakh metric tonnes of urea and 19 thousand metric tonnes of DAP is less in the state as compared to last year. Also, due to the availability of sufficient amount of water in the reservoirs due to good rains, the area of Rabi crops is also likely to increase from 112 lakh hectare to 116 lakh hectare.

When will the sowing of mustard start

The Agriculture Minister of the state told that the sowing of mustard and gram crops will start from September 15. Due to which additional demand for urea and DAP fertilizers will be created. Keeping all these circumstances in mind, the Central Government has been requested to supply immediately one lakh metric tonnes of urea and 50 thousand metric tonnes of DAP to the state in the month of September in the interest of farmers.
