Preparations are being made for drought in Jharkhand, farmers will get crop compensation compensation up to 13500 per hectare

This time due to less rain in Jharkhand, a drought-like situation has arisen. Most of the farmers due to lack of rain Kharif crops could not cultivate. The state government is also serious about this and is coming up with many welfare schemes to provide relief to the farmers. A special discussion was also organized during the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly regarding the drought situation in the state. During this, information was given about the steps being taken by the state government to provide relief to the farmers of the state.

Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh said that a high-level meeting will be held on drought, after which its report will be sent to the Centre. Explaining the decision of the state government, he said that if there is a drought in the state, a grant (exgrasia) of Rs 65 per day per adult and Rs 45 per child per day will be given. The Agriculture Minister said that even before this, there was drought in the state in 2005-06 in 2018. He said that according to the Center, drought can be announced by the end of October.

compensation amount will be increased

Crop Relief Scheme is being run for the crop loss caused to the farmers in the state. Under this, farmers will be given compensation for crop loss. The Agriculture Minister said that as compensation to the farmers, 6800 (non-irrigated) and 13500 rupees per hectare will be given on the basis of irrigated land. Apart from this, three thousand rupees will be given on the death of goats, along with arrangements are being made to give compensation of 30 thousand rupees to the farmers for cows and buffaloes.

Agriculture loan waiver will be considered

During the discussion on drought, Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh told that the state government is considering for loan waiver of NPA farmers. A high level meeting will be held soon regarding this. He told that till now the loan of 3.95 lakh farmers in the state has been waived worth Rs 1576 crore. Along with this, the government is also considering loan waiver for small and medium farmers. Apart from this, it is taking more steps to provide relief to the people.

Talking about the rainfall figures in Jharkhand, this time the state has received 50 percent less rainfall. Due to this, it has had a significant impact on the sowing of Kharif crops, especially on the cultivation of paddy. Against the target set for the field in the state, sowing has been done only up to 35 percent.
