Pears of Jashpur reaching Delhi, farmers are earning well

The taste of pears of Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh is being liked by the capital of the country, Delhi. Apart from Delhi, pears are being bought here in various states of the country including Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. Famous for its natural beauty and tribal culture, the farmers of remote areas of Jashpur are cultivating tea, cashew, tomato, chilli and potato in their fields in addition to greens and vegetables in their fields. There is a large scale in the plateau areas of the garden development block. Pear Farming is also being done.

The farmers of the area are getting good profits from this cultivation. In Jashpur district, 660 metric tonnes of pears are being produced in about 750 hectares. Due to which more than 17 hundred farmers are getting benefitted. Getting a good price is changing their life. Tea cultivation being done in Balachapar of the district and papaya cultivation in Darbha of Bastar are also in discussion. Changes in the agricultural sector of the state are an indicator that agriculture is now bringing more changes than usual in the state.

Good profit getting from pear

Many farmers here have started production of pears by taking advantage of the Pear Area Expansion Scheme of the Horticulture Department. One of these is Virendra Kujur, a farmer from the Garden Block. Who has planted 250 pear trees in his garden. Now every year he is getting an income of lakhs of rupees from the sale of fruits. Along with this, local small farmers and agricultural laborers have also got employment due to this work.

Getting benefits of government schemes

Virendra says that in the year 2021-2022, he earned an income of about Rs 3 lakh from pear production. They have got direct benefit from the schemes of the government. Due to which their income has increased. He is working continuously under the guidance of expert officers, now he wants to expand this work further. Based on the vision of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, income-oriented activities of production are being promoted in the areas related to agriculture, horticulture and forestry in the state.

Promotion of vegetable and fruit production

Under the ambitious scheme Narva, Garwa, Ghurwa and Bari of Chhattisgarh government, production of vegetables and fruits based on local climate is also being promoted in the villages. With the aim of bringing change in the economic condition and standard of living of the village, villagers and farmers, such schemes are being implemented on the ground, due to which the income of the people is increasing.

Local people getting employment from farming

The government is running many important schemes to promote agriculture and make farmers financially strong in the state. Apart from paddy, farmers are doing many types of farming in remote areas. These also include fruit production. Due to this, not only the production capacity of vegetables and fruits is increasing in the state, but avenues are also opened for local employment. Farmers and villagers in remote areas of the state are getting the guidance of experts and the benefits of government schemes for agriculture with a modern method adapted to the geographical environment.
