The risk of lumpy skin disease is increasing in Maharashtra. Due to this, the cattle owners of the state are upset. While addressing the meeting of the State Task Force of Doctors on Lumpy Skin Disease at Nijjan Bhawan in Solapur, Animal Husbandry Dairy Development Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil asked the doctors. lumpy disease Instructions have been given to take necessary steps for prevention. He said that in case of infection, instructions have been given to plan carefully to reduce the death rate. So far 2100 cattle have died due to this disease in the state.
In this meeting Solapur MLA Subhash Deshmukh, Sach Kalyanshetty, Rajendra Raut, Sadhan Awtade, Ranjitsinh Mohite-Patil, Animal Husbandry Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh, State Task Force President Dr. Bikane, Collector Milind Hundkar, Municipal Commissioner P. Shiv Shankar, Chief Executive Officer Dilip Swamy, Superintendent of Police Tejashwi Satpute and other dignitaries were present.
Animal Husbandry Minister gave instructions
Animal Husbandry Minister Vikhe-Patil said that the death rate of cows due to lumpi disease is increasing continuously in the state. Patil said that the task force officials should do research on which other disease apart from lumpi, animals are dying. Find out the exact reasons for this and suggest what measures should be taken. Cattle are the property of livestock owners. Do not let the animals die. Vikhe Patil also said that care should be taken that the infected animals do not mix with non-diseased animals. The task force should organize online workshops. And the guidance of veterinary officers and doctors of all the districts of the state should be taken. Vikhe-Patil also said that local doctors should not be lax in this.
Vaccination of 82 lakh animals completed
There are 1 crore 40 lakh cattle in the state and 1 crore 15 lakh vaccines have been provided. Everyone is being rapidly vaccinated. And 82 lakh animals have been vaccinated, currently 52 thousand animals are infected. And 2 thousand 100 cattle have died. Due to timely decision and rapid vaccination, the infection of this disease is decreasing in 2000 villages. Somewhere now even minor diseases are getting diseases in animals.
Death rate will not decrease without vaccination
In the meeting, the Dr. Task Force was of the opinion that without complete vaccination, the mortality rate will not come down. Animals that died include old, sick cattle, pregnant, calves. In such a situation, the livestock owners should take care of such cattle. And along with the infected animal will have to be kept separately, efforts are being made to do full vaccination soon.
