The farmers have suffered huge economic losses. Efforts are being made by the administration to control the lumpy skin disease at the district level.

How much assistance will the farmers get

According to the norms of National Disaster Mitigation Policy, the state government has decided to provide financial assistance ranging from 16 to 30 thousand rupees to the farmers who lost their cattle due to lumpi virus. To implement this decision, committees have been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad. With this amount, the loss of cattle owners will not be fully compensated, but they will definitely get relief.

Animal markets and exhibitions have been banned in 22 districts of the state. So that there is no infection of lumpi. Mumbai Police Commissioner has also issued orders to completely ban animal exhibitions, markets and transportation of animals in Mumbai. Action will be taken for violation of this order. These orders have been implemented from 14 September to 13 October 2022. It is hoped that the ban on movement will stop the infection.

Government will bear the full cost of medicines

The country’s animal husbandry is troubled by Lumpy Lumpy Skin Disease. In Maharashtra too, animals have been infected with lumpi disease in about 22 districts. To control this, a massive vaccination campaign is being run in the state. State Animal Husbandry Minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said that the government will bear all the cost of medicines for the animals suffering from lumpi virus. Along with this, a drug bank of essential medicines will also be provided at the district level. Also, Vikhe Patil said that one lakh animals are being vaccinated in a day.
