The farmer is planting crops in his field by irrigation. The expenditure on diesel to the farmers for irrigation has increased. In view of this, the Nitish cabinet, giving relief, has increased the subsidy on diesel. The state government has increased the diesel subsidy given to farmers for irrigation of Kharif crops including paddy from Rs 600 per acre to Rs 750 per acre.
The green signal has been given by the Nitish cabinet to increase the subsidy on diesel. At a time when the Kharif season is going on and the state is not raining, lakhs of farmers of the state will get the benefit of subsidy in diesel. According to media reports, Additional Chief Secretary of the cabinet S Siddhartha said that for each irrigation season, farmers will be given a subsidy of Rs 750 for land up to 10 acres. Under this, a farmer will be given a maximum grant of eight lakh rupees for irrigation. He further informed that a grant of Rs 1500 would be given for double irrigation of paddy and jute in this season.
Subsidy increased by Rs 15 per liter
Whereas farmers of Bihar will be given three times more subsidy for irrigation of other crops. A provision of Rs 29.95 crore was made in the budget of this financial year to give subsidy on diesel to the farmers. Till now, subsidy of Rs 60 per liter was being given to the farmers of the state. After this the state government increased it by Rs 15 and now it has been increased to Rs 75 per liter. It is noteworthy that a total of 23 proposals were approved in the meeting of the Nitish cabinet, out of which diesel subsidy was also one.
Payment will be made within 10 days of application
The application will be executed within a maximum of 10 days from the date of receipt of online application for diesel grant. At this time, the subsidy amount of diesel will be paid to the farmers inside the chest in their bank account. To apply, farmers will have to upload the computerized bill of purchase of diesel from the respective petrol pump. Along with this, whether the purchased diesel has been used for irrigation or not, it will also be investigated. The agriculture coordinator of the Panchayat related to the farmer will go to the field and check it.
