In a review meeting to review the preparations for the purchase of Kharif crops, Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal said that the procurement of crops, its storage and arrangement of gunny bags in the mandis should be ensured. So that the farmers do not face any kind of problem during the procurement process.

What is the action plan for crop procurement

It was informed in the meeting that the procurement of moong during the marketing season 2022-23 would start from October 1. This will continue till November 15, 2022. Groundnut will be procured from November 1 to December 31, 2022. Apart from this, the procurement of Arhar, Urad and Til will start from 1st December and will continue till 31st December 2022. The procurement of Kharif crops will be done at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) announced by the Central Government.

In how many mandis will the purchase be made?

Apart from state procurement agencies like Haryana State Warehousing Corporation and HAFED, crops will also be procured by NAFED. Adequate number of mandis have been arranged for this. Farmers will be able to sell their crops in about a hundred mandis. 38 mandis in 16 districts for the purchase of moong, 22 in 18 districts for the purchase of tur, 10 mandis in 7 districts for the purchase of urad, 7 mandis in 3 districts for the purchase of groundnut and 21 for the purchase of sesame 27 mandis have been opened in the districts.

What is the minimum support price

The central government had declared the MSP of Kharif crops for the marketing season 2022-23 in June itself. According to him, the minimum support price for moong is Rs 7755, that of urad is 6600, that of groundnut is 5850, that of tur 6600 and that of sesame is Rs 7830 per quintal. The Haryana government will ensure that farmers get such a price.

How much production of moong and groundnut

According to the Haryana government, there is a possibility of producing 41,850 metric tonnes of moong in the state this year. Similarly, 1044 metric tonnes of tur, 364 metric tonnes of urad, 425 metric tonnes of sesame and 10,011 metric tonnes of groundnut are likely to be produced.
