Fire broke out in Rajasthan, dug well, 730 livestock assistants got regular appointment

Lumpy skin disease has spread so much in seven states of the country that even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to mention it in the World Dairy Summit. But, the negligence of the center to the states on this issue is not hidden from anyone. About 60 thousand cows have died due to this disease in the country. The situation is such that the posts of veterinary doctors and related staff are vacant in almost all the affected states. Even in a big state like UP, veterinary doctors are taking extreme care in this matter. The state government has claimed that the number of personnel has been increased in the state for the prevention of lumpy skin disease spreading among the cattle and for the best management in veterinary services. The Animal Husbandry Department has issued an order on Sunday and given regular appointment to 730 Livestock Assistants. Minister of Animal Husbandry Department Lalchand Kataria said that orders have been issued for regular appointment of 730 livestock assistants, giving priority in 18 districts on the basis of additional affected and vacancies in the state.

Other posts will be recruited soon

Kataria told that these newly appointed livestock assistants will have to handle the work in seven days. The copy of the order has been uploaded on the website of Animal Husbandry Department. The Animal Husbandry Minister said that according to the release issued in March 2022, this recruitment has been done on 1436 posts by deciding to include the newly created 300 posts of livestock assistants in 1136 posts of livestock assistants. He said that on receipt of the list of successful candidates from the Staff Selection Board, appointment orders would be issued on the remaining posts as soon as possible.

Temporary appointment of 200 doctors

It is noteworthy that recently, 200 veterinary officers have been appointed on temporary basis by the Animal Husbandry Department for better treatment and prevention of lumpy skin disease spreading in the cattle. Apart from Rajasthan, lumpi disease is spread in many states including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, UP, Uttarakhand and Delhi. Vaccination is happening rapidly in Haryana and Rajasthan.

On the other hand, in the World Dairy Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the recent past, there has been loss of livestock due to the disease named lumpi in many states of India. The central government, along with various state governments, is trying to control it. Our scientists have prepared an indigenous vaccine for this disease.
