Farmers in Hardoi district of Uttar Pradesh are earning very good profits by cultivating garlic. The garlic crop has reached the market before the rains. Farmer Mewa Lal, a resident of Behandar, Hardoi, told that he has been cultivating garlic for a long time. With scientific changes from time to time, their crop is getting better. He told that he had recently participated in a program held in the Agriculture Department, where farmers were suggested ways to get better crops using scientific method in farming. This time he has used them in the garlic crop and has earned a profit of up to Rs 10 lakh in about 1 acre. Due to a little care in 6 months, this time the best yield has been obtained.

The tuber of his garlic crop is white and large in size. Although the crop was ready in about 5 months, but they dug it out of the field in 6 months, due to which the garlic tuber has come out in a very mature stage. It has been bought hand-in-hand in the market. The farmer told that for this he had prepared from the beginning of the field according to the rules mentioned. After plowing the field, weeds were pulled out. Organic matter was also put in the field according to the quantity. He used cow dung manure in a better way in agriculture.

Prepare garlic field in this way

After doing about 3 deep plowing, the fields were made by leveling the field. After selecting healthy buds of garlic, he planted them in rows at a distance of about 15 cm. This is the set standard suggested by the department for developing the knots. Dr Nandkishore, Director of Agriculture, Hardoi said that the garlic crop is ready in 160 days. More than 160 quintals are produced in one hectare. From time to time, important information, seeds and subsidy facilities are being provided to the farmers of the district from the Agriculture Department.

Improved farmers are getting good production from the best varieties. Farmers are also made aware and honored from time to time according to the intention of the government. The trainers of the Agriculture Department also visit the fields from time to time to inspect the crops of the farmers. Hardoi District Horticulture Officer Suresh Kumar said that garlic is a tuberous spice crop. It contains allicin element. It is used as a spice as well as medicinally. It is also used in diseases of blood pressure, stomach disorders, digestive disorders and cancer. Garlic is cultivated in India in many states including Madhya Pradesh. The special thing is that the good price of garlic remains in the market throughout the year.
