Cotton is not getting fair price, know in which market how much rate is being received

Farmers say that they should get at least Rs 10,000 per quintal rate of cotton.

Cotton sales stopped by farmers in Nandurbar district

Cotton is cultivated in large quantities every year in northern Maharashtra. This year, cotton has been planted in more than one lakh 25 thousand areas in Nandurbar district. In the beginning cotton was getting a good price. But now farmers do not want to sell cotton due to no increase in cotton prices. Initially the price of cotton was Rs 9000 to 9700 per quintal. But in the last 15 days, the price of cotton has come down by Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. A picture is being seen in Nandurbar district that due to the reduction in the price of cotton, farmers have temporarily stopped selling cotton. Farmers say that their cost will not be recovered from the prices they are getting.

How much rate are the farmers getting in which market

Only 36 quintals of cotton arrived in Pune’s mandi on 4th December. Whose minimum price was Rs 4500 per quintal. The maximum price was Rs.8590 per quintal. The average price was Rs.8550 per quintal.

107 quintals of cotton arrived in Nagpur. Where the minimum price was Rs 8600 per quintal. The maximum price was Rs 8710 per quintal. The average price was Rs 8650 per quintal.

940 quintals of cotton arrived in Wardha Mandi. Whose minimum price was Rs 8600 per quintal. The maximum price was Rs 8965 per quintal while the average price was Rs 87900 per quintal.
