Big decision for farmers, those who are not members will also get chemical fertilizers from PACS

The time for Kharif crops is coming to an end and the time for sowing of Rabi crops is now approaching. It is already being prepared, especially in those states where there was an outcry for manure in the last Rabi season. Madhya Pradesh government has taken a big decision for such farmers who are indebted to primary agricultural credit cooperative societies and are not members. According to this, now loanee farmers and those who are not members of PACS will also be able to get fertilizers through PACS. This will give relief to lakhs of farmers.

Instructions have been issued by the Cooperation Department to ensure the availability of chemical fertilizers to all the farmers of the state from Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS). On the recent instructions given by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to ensure availability of fertilizers to the farmers, Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Singh Bhadauria had asked the departmental officers to work.

It is not necessary to be a member of packs

Cooperation Minister Dr. Bhadauria informed that farmers became indebted due to non-payment of the outstanding loans of the primary agricultural credit cooperative societies. Loanee farmers are not even eligible to get loans and fertilizers and seeds from PACS. Along with this, till now it is stopping the sale of seeds and fertilizers in cash.

It has also been necessary for the farmers to be a member of the PACS to get the seeds and fertilizers from the PACS. But, now it has been decided in the interest of farmers that fertilizers and seeds will be sold in PACS institution in cash also. With this, loanee farmers and those farmers who are not members of PACS will also be able to get fertilizers from PACS.

So that farmers get complete fertilizer

In order to store fertilizers, instructions have been given to the marketing association to give 25 tonnes of fertilizers on credit to the economically weaker packs, so that the economically weaker packs can be able to give fertilizers to the farmers. Each pack will be given 25 tonnes of fertilizers on credit by the marketing association. With the amount received from the sale of 25 tonnes of this pack, he will then purchase the fertilizer. This will ensure uninterrupted availability of fertilizers to the farmers.

There was an outcry for fertilizer in Madhya Pradesh

In the last Rabi season, Madhya Pradesh was also one of the states in which there was an outcry for fertilizers. In many districts including Bhind, Dindori, Datia and Gwalior, farmers had to make long lines for fertilizer. After standing in line overnight in many districts, farmers had got a sack of urea and DAP. This caused a lot of inconvenience to the Madhya Pradesh government. The government is already alert to avoid such a situation in this season and farmers have been given relief in the rules of getting fertilizer from packs.
