The Kerala government has launched a portal Ksheersree to facilitate the registration of dairy farmers of the state. The state government is working with the goal of integrating all the dairy farmers under this portal. In this portal, farmers doing dairy business independently, including those associated with cooperatives, can also register themselves.
Scheme to promote dairy farmers
The Kerala government has taken the decision to register dairy farmers for a special reason. Under which the state government is working on a plan to promote dairy farmers. In this episode, the state government is going to register dairy farmers and give them smart cards. According to a report in the English newspaper, the benefit of subsidies and allowances can be given to dairy farmers under the scheme. Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister J Chinchu Rani has said that in future the allowances of the concerned departments will be distributed through the portal.
2 lakh dairy farmers in Kerala
Presently in Kerala, 3,600 milk cooperatives are collecting milk from farmers across the state. At the same time, many other dairy farmers are associated with the dairy business. According to an estimate there are 2 lakh dairy farmers in the state.
Registration will be done till August 20
The Kerala government has started the process of registration of dairy farmers from August 15. Under which such farmers have been asked to register by August 20. Dairy farmers can register through milk cooperative societies including the offices of the Dairy Development Department. The registration process is being conducted online as well as offline. Photo, copy of bank passbook, Aadhar number and ration card number will be required for registration.
