Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar advocates for increasing the use of machines in agriculture, advises farmers to join FPO

Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has advocated for increasing the use of machines in agriculture. To take advantage of this, he has advised more and more farmers of the country to join the newly created 10 thousand FPOs. He said that the central government is spending Rs 6,865 crore on this project. He further said that those who are small farmers, they will take advantage of machines, use technology and go towards expensive crops and use government facilities along with processing, then they will definitely get better benefits. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar Said these things as the chief guest in the program organized on the 59th foundation day of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University.

The 59th Foundation Day function of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University, Jabalpur was organized online on Saturday. In which Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar participated as the chief guest.

Important role of scientists in making MP a leader in agriculture

On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that at present, Madhya Pradesh is considered a leading state in the field of agriculture, so the role of Agricultural University, the role of Krishi Vigyan Kendras, the role of scientists of Indian Council of Agricultural Research are very important in its foundation. Is. Tomar said that Jabalpur Agricultural University is known throughout the country as an institute of excellence, it is a matter of pride for the people working in the agriculture sector of MP. He further said that this university was established in the year 1964, since then till date, the university has contributed a lot in advancing, upgrading, benefiting the farmers of MP’s agriculture sector.

He further said that MP has repeatedly received the prestigious Kisan Karman Award in the field of agriculture, for which MP deserves congratulations.

Challenges increased in the era of climate change

Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that in the era of climate change, our challenge increases even more. Farmers have to depend on nature despite the availability of sufficient resources. He said that in this regard, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided a security cover to the farmers in the form of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. 1.22 lakh crore as compensation for the loss of crops to the farmers for the last 6 years. They have been given the claim.

He further said that in view of the changing climate, research should be done in this direction that farmers should adopt which method, which is tolerant to the climate and should not reduce our production and productivity. He said that education has an important contribution in the agriculture sector. An attempt has been made to integrate the new National Education Policy in agricultural education in a better way.
