Shreya Guha, Principal Secretary, Cooperation Department, said that computerization of more than 7 thousand village service cooperative societies of the state would be done. Out of these 1298 have been selected this year. The process of computerization will be done after selecting the rest of the committees within three years. She was addressing the Managing Directors of Central Cooperative Banks at the 50th High Level Task Force meeting of NABARD at Apex Bank.
Guha directed that all the Central Cooperative Banks should complete the process of selection of PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies) at the earliest so that the work of computerization can be completed. He instructed that after completing the meeting of the District Collector level this month, send the information about the selection of packs.
Vacant posts will be recruited
The Principal Secretary to the Government said that the Rajasthan Cooperative Recruitment Board will soon start the recruitment process for the 557 vacant posts in Central Cooperative Banks. So that the staff related problem can be solved. He directed that a monitoring cell should be constituted at the level of Apex Bank, so that the targets given to the central cooperative banks and their work can be monitored from time to time.
Work like a commercial banker
Guha said that the banks should follow the guidelines issued by NABARD and RBI. Send information fast. Co-operative bank officials work like commercial bankers. Increase the business of the bank. The scope of cooperative is wide and the Government of India is also going to issue this new policy. So banks should increase their working capacity.

Cooperative Registrar Muktanand Aggarwal said that apart from crop loans, the central cooperative bank should also focus on disbursing long-term loans. Take advantage of various schemes by NABARD and fulfill the given targets on time. He said that PACS computerization is a revolutionary step in the field of cooperatives and it will establish transparency and accountability in the activities of the bank. He directed that the packs should be fulfilled at the earliest to set the criteria for selection.
Give loan not only for agriculture but also for other work
NABARD Chief General Manager BN Kurup said that banks should increase the scope of their business and give loans for other works besides agricultural loans.
